Chopin’s Nocturne No. 20 is a tender and deeply emotional piece, rich in nuance and lyrical phrasing. Its expressive melody and subtle dynamics reveal the composer’s gift for turning piano into poetry. I was drawn to its sense of melancholy and calm beauty — learning to balance control and emotion has been both a challenge and a joy.

Mozart’s Rondo alla Turca is one of the most recognizable and lively movements in classical piano literature. Its rhythmic energy and bright, percussive melody evoke the sound of Turkish Janissary bands, blending playfulness with technical precision. I was fascinated by its joyful spirit and the challenge of keeping the rhythm crisp while maintaining a light, dancing touch.

One of Beethoven’s most beloved piano works, Für Elise captivates with its graceful melody and delicate phrasing that blend simplicity with elegance. Its timeless charm and expressive dynamics inspired me to make it the first piece I self-learned — drawn to its flowing tones and the emotional depth hidden within its gentle rhythm.

Gymnopédie No. 1 by Erik Satie

Erik Satie’s Gymnopédie No. 1 is a masterpiece of simplicity and calm — a piece that speaks through space, stillness, and subtle color. Its slow, floating rhythm and dreamy harmonies create a meditative atmosphere that I find both soothing and challenging to sustain with balance and grace.

Beethoven’s Menuet in G major is a bright and charming early work, full of youthful grace and classical elegance. Its simple melody and clear phrasing make it a beautiful study in balance, articulation, and timing — qualities that have helped me strengthen my control and musical sensitivity.
